How to Choose an SEO Agency in Dubai: 8 Questions to Ask

By SEO Agency Dubai 3 min read

There is no shortage of SEO agencies in Dubai, and from the outside their proposals look alike. The differences appear later, when the monthly reports arrive. These eight questions help you see those differences before you sign.

1. What will you actually do each month?

A good answer is specific: pages to be optimised, technical fixes, articles to be written, outreach to be done. A vague answer such as "ongoing optimisation" usually means little will happen.

This is the most revealing question. Look for digital PR, content worth referencing and genuine outreach. Be wary of fixed packages such as "50 backlinks per month", which almost always come from link farms or private blog networks. Google's spam policies prohibit these, and the risk falls on your domain, not the agency's.

3. Can you guarantee rankings?

The honest answer is no. Google itself warns businesses to be careful of anyone who guarantees a number one ranking. An agency can guarantee its effort and its transparency, not an algorithm it does not control.

4. How will you measure success?

Rankings matter, but they are a means to an end. A serious agency will ask about your leads, sales and margins, and will set up tracking for calls, forms and purchases from organic search.

5. Who will work on my account?

Ask who does the work and who you will speak to. Find out whether the work is done in-house or outsourced, and whether the team includes native Arabic speakers if you need Arabic content.

6. Will I own everything?

You should own your website, content, analytics accounts and Google Business Profile. Access should be granted from your accounts to the agency, never the other way around. If the relationship ends, you keep everything.

7. What does the contract look like?

SEO takes months to work, so some commitment is reasonable. Long lock-in periods with no exit clause are not. Look for a clear scope, a reasonable notice period and no penalty for leaving.

8. Can you show me how you think?

Ask for a short audit of your own website before you sign. How an agency analyses your site tells you more than any case study. You will see whether they understand your market and whether they explain things clearly.

Red flags at a glance

  • Guaranteed first-page rankings within weeks.
  • Prices far below the market with a long list of deliverables.
  • Refusal to explain link building methods.
  • Reports that show only rankings for keywords nobody searches.
  • Accounts and assets held in the agency's name.

The short version

Choose the agency that asks the best questions about your business, explains its work in plain language and is honest about what it cannot promise.
